So Excited!

I just got my consultant kit on Friday and I have spent the weekend looking through everything. If I wasn't excited enough before - I definitely am now!!

The kit contains some really good samples to help showcase the wonderful products with Heritage Makers, and there is a lot of info to help you get your business started right.

I am hoping to have my first workshop or celebration soon - once I get everything organized and ready. I already have a bunch of people who have looked at my book and the sample books who want to order - so that is great.

It is nice to be able to be selling a product to people that they can treasure and which can become great keepsakes for their family. I am a very firm believer in preserving family history and stories - but I just do not have time (or the room in my house!) for traditional scrapbooking. That is why these storybooks are perfect.

And, I am finding that they pretty much sell themselves!

So - I am excited to begin my new business with Heritage Makers, and will hopefully be able to use this blog to record my journey.

My New Journey...

Welcome to my blog dedicated to my new Heritage Makers business! To me, having the chance to create a memory book -(which is what I think of them as!) - for people and times in my life that are important is the best feeling in the world.

But, to be able to maybe make a bit of money by doing it - that is just icing on the cake for me. I don't know how I will be as far as doing parties or promoting at trade shows, because I am a rather shy person, but I think the product pretty much sells itself anyway.

I had been considering joining for months - in fact, had even considered creating my own business using the storybook concept - but Heritage Makers just has so much of what I wanted already, I finally decided to just jump in and see what happens.

After getting set up with a basic account - then trying the premier membership for a month - I created a memory book about my Grandpa. He passed away before I was married, and my girls never got to meet him.

As I worked on the book, they would stop at the computer and look at the pictures and ask questions. I noticed that they were developing a real interest in learning more about him.

When I finished my book and sent it to be published, I thought I would just wait to see how it turned out before making any decisions about becoming a consultant. The book came in less than 2 weeks - which thrilled me!

But, when I saw the book, I started to cry. It was just how I had imagined it - only better! Both my girls spent the day looking at the book and getting us to read it to them. Then, they asked questions about him, and my youngest daughter (she is 3) told me she wished she could have met him.

That was when I realized just how important creating these memory books really are. My other daughter (she is 5) took the book to show and tell yesterday, and was so proud. And, her teacher caught me after school and told me she wants to do one for her dad!

She had read the book to the class - I bet my Grandpa never imagined he would have a story about him read to a kindergarten class! He was just one of those people who never felt they had anything special about them - but now I know that my kids will always feel that he was special - even if they didn't get to meet him.

I am so excited to be a part of this business - and maybe help some other people create a memory book that will give them the same feelings I had when I saw my Grandpa's book.
